Key Ingredients
St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum), a plant that grows in the wild, helps support normal behavioral patterns and maintains proper functioning of the nervous system. The flowers and leaves of St. John's Wort contain active ingredients such as hyperforin.
Inositol is a carbohydrate found in your body, as well as in food and dietary supplements. It is used to support metabolic functioning of the liver as well as help maintain normal emotional balance. Inositol also acts as an antioxidant to help remove damaging free radicals in the brain, circulatory system, and other body tissues.
Eleuthero powder is an adaptogen that aids in the body’s ability to cope with environmental stress and anxiety by modulating the nitric oxide and cortisol production via the hypothalamic-pituitary axis.
Passion flower extract is a key ingredient containing flavonoids and alkaloids, promoting relaxation by inhibiting GABA uptake by nerve cell synapses.
Information
General Info
Serenin Vet® combines different ingredients that work together to promote normal behavioral patterns and a healthy nervous system, particularly in times of stress. These ingredients work together to achieve this calming effect and include:
- St. John’s Wort extract, to promote normal behavioral patterns and functioning of the brain and nervous system.
- Eleuthero powder, to support behavioral responses to stress.
- Passion flower extract, which promotes relaxation.
- DL-phenylalanine, an essential amino acid that promotes normal behavior and attention and balances temperament.
- 5-HTP (Griffonia simplicifolia seed), from an African evergreen climbing shrub, promotes calming behaviors by supporting a normal nervous system response to stress.
Special Note: If your animal is pregnant or actively breeding, or is receiving any medications for behavioral management, please contact our Veterinary Consultants or call us at 1-800-721-1310, or contact your veterinarian before using this supplement.

Do not use Serenin Vet™ if animal is on a Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOI) or other type of antidepressant. Administer during or after the animal has eaten to reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal upset.
St. John’s wort in Serenin Vet® is metabolized by the Cytochrome P450 liver pathway similar to CBD. Therefore, if taking both supplements, contact us.

For Veterinarians
Serenin Vet® combines different ingredients that work together to promote normal behavioral patterns and a healthy nervous system, particularly in times of stress. These ingredients work together to achieve this calming effect and include:
- St. John’s Wort extract, with active constituents hyperforin and hypericin, promotes healthy mentation and behavioral patterns by modulating serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine; reducing serotonin reuptake in the brain; and inhibiting GABA ligand binding.(1)
- Eleuthero powder, an adaptogen, aids in the body’s ability to cope with environmental stress and anxiety by modulating the nitric oxide and cortisol production via the hypothalamic-pituitary axis.(2)
- Passion flower extract, containing flavonoids and alkaloids, promotes relaxation by inhibiting GABA uptake by nerve cell synapses.(3)
- DL-phenylalanine, an essential amino acid, promotes normal mood and behavior by maintaining healthy amounts of norepinephrine, as it is a precursor for the neurotransmitter’s production. DL-phenylalanine’s conversion to the neuromodulator 2-phenylethylamine also helps encourage brain neuron receptor sensitivity.(4)
- 5-HTP (Griffonia simplicifolia seed), a metabolite produced from the essential amino acid L-tryptophan and a direct precursor for serotonin production in the CNS that promotes serotonin production and thereby healthy behavioral responses in times of stress.(5)
